# Quick Setup: Redeem Your Microsoft 365 Product Key

> Learn how to redeem your Microsoft 365 product key at microsoft365.com/setup and link the subscription to your Microsoft account in four easy steps.

If you bought Microsoft 365 as a card or digital download, you first redeem it at microsoft365.com/setup. Redeeming links the subscription to your Microsoft account so you can install and manage it anytime.

## What you need

* A device with an internet connection
* Your 25-character product key (printed on the card or in your purchase email)
* A Microsoft account (Outlook.com, Hotmail, or any email registered with Microsoft)

## Redeem your subscription

    Go to [microsoft365.com/setup](https://www.microsoft365.com/setup).

  <Step title="Sign in or create an account">
    Sign in with your Microsoft account. If you don't have one, select **Create one** and follow the prompts.

  <Step title="Enter your product key">
    Type the 25-character key without spaces or dashes, then select your country or region and language.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Review your details and confirm. Your subscription now appears in your Microsoft account.

  Keep your product key in a safe place. Once redeemed, you won't need it again, because the subscription is tied to your account.
